Example of new forming technology
By using the large-scale press machine in JFE's steel laboratory, new forming technologies are being developed in full-size automotive parts.
- "CP-f™" forming technology
CP-f™ can make a closed profile part without flange in body parts by using conventional press machines.
- "JIM-From™" forming technology
JIM-From™can improve the formality of high strength steels and enlarge the application of high strength steels into complex body part shapes by controlling the location of the slide plate and the blank holder of press dies with servo press machines.
Forming technique for complex-shaped parts
The backdoor outer panel with the spoiler can be formed from one steel sheet by the developed forming technology.
The forming techniques to improve risk of fracture, wrinkle and springback issues are being developed for advanced high strength steel applications.
