Formability Prediction Technique

Advanced CAE technologies are being developed including CAE prediction techniques for various issues in press forming, such as fractures, wrinkles, stretch-flange-fractures, springback and surface distortion, and material modeling techniques which can consider the Bauschinger effect and elastic / plastic anisotropies. The CAE prediction can support the deployments of automobile parts by the proposed remediation for the press forming issue.

In order to improve the accuracy of CAE prediction, material modeling techniques are being developed with consideration of the Bauschinger effect and elastic / plastic anisotropies.

The stretch-flange-fractures can be accurately predicted by using the fracture criterion considering the strain gradient in stretch-flange deformation.
