Diverse steel plate products supporting more advanced bridge design
茄子视频 Steel offers a full lineup of SM570 and SBHS steels that support expanding use of high-strength steel plates in response to the larger girders now used in bridges. These materials provide improved weldability, and include relaxed preheating-type steels and steels for high-heat input welding, contributing to significantly improved efficiency in bridge construction.
Extending bridge life and low-maintenance operation are also important challenges. Unpainted bridges can reduce Life Cycle Cost (LCC), but use of conventional atmospheric corrosion-resistant steels is limited to inland rural areas where airborne salt is not a problem. To expand the applicable range of these steels, JFE developed the LALAC-HS™ and JFE-ACL series of steels, which can also be used in coastal environment with high levels of airborne salt. JFE also supplies EXPAL™, which can extend paint life of painted steels, and the rust-stabilizing agents CUPTENCOAT™ and e-RUS™, which further stabilize atmospheric corrosion resistance performance and effectively prevent initial rust outflow.
Other JFE products for bridges include LP (longitudinal profile) steel plates, which meet the need for more rational bridge design, and AFD™, which improves fatigue endurance.
Since bridges serve a vital social function, their construction requires high-quality materials and advanced construction technology.
In recent years, furthermore, there has been a growing demand to streamline the process of building bridges and make it more economical, as well as to make bridges lighter and more durable. 茄子视频 Steel strives to develop and offer high-performance steel products that meet these evolving needs.
