Less deformation during welding.
Less deformation due to temperature changes during use.
- Approx. 2.5% lower density for lighter weight.
- Due to its magnetism, it can be used with magnetic sorting and handling.
Very well suited for use with IH pots and other electromagnetic cookers.

In a 4-year atmospheric exposure test in Okinawa, JFE443CT (SUS443J1) demonstrated a corrosion resistance superior to that of SUS304.
Formability
Workabiliity is on a par with that of SUS304
1.Superior drawability, inferior overhang characteristics.
2.Season cracks do not occur even when machining with large strains.
3.Work hardening is minimal. This offers the advantage of lower work loads when shearing or press forming.

Weldability
1. SUS443J1 retains good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties even after TIG welding.
- Y316L is recommended as a filler metal (welding rod, welding wire).
- Use a filler such as Y316L when welding with SUS304 to prevent deterioration of corrosion resistance.
- Avoid welding with SUS430 because it reduces corrosion resistance.
2. Excellent with MIG, MAG, and spot welding.

1. Welded parts show as good corrosion resistance as parent metal both without welding rods and with Y316L welding rods.
2. With Y308 welding rods the corrosion resistance of welded parts deteriorates, resulting in rust.
