High-speed temperature measurement, stress/fatigue analysis, nondestructive inspection, air flow visualization

Infrared Camera Solution

Temperature distributions, air flows, stress, fatigue, defects, etc. can be visualized by combining a high-performance infrared camera and advanced signal processing technique (lock-in analysis technique).

Solution Point

  • Nondestructive inspection by infrared camera:
Detection of internal defects as images by cyclically heating the target part or structure from outside.
  • Stress measurement by infrared camera:
Visualization of the distribution of stress fluctuations by measuring the temperature changes caused by the thermoelastic effects when stress acts on a sample.
  • Visualization of air flows by infrared camera:
Visualization of the movement of air flows having temperature change by applying JFE's proprietary "short-time lock-in method.

Features 01

Expected Problems

?Did you ever have a difficulty finding a suitable method to perform a nondestructive inspection for internal defects?

?Did you ever have a difficulty finding a suitable method to find stress concentration areas, or verify the results of stress analysis by CAE, ?

?Do you need to measure and evaluate the air flows in large areas, for example, inside a factory or in large indoor spaces?

Features 02

Technology highlight
Point01 By using JFE's proprietary lock-in analysis technique, which targets non-destructive inspection, stress analysis and visualization of air flows, it is possible to achieve
(1) Detection of the depth direction of defects by extracting part of the heating cycle (3D lock-in method)
(2) Real-time observation of minute temperature changes that occur with time (short-time lock-in method, real-time lock-in method)
Point02 Immediate measurement is possible if a personal computer is available with the infrared camera.
